Our philosophy reflects the foundation of our shop and our aim to support and promote fair trade. We offer products that are made with concern for the well fare of the environment and fair compensation for the workers producing it. All of the products we sell are from the Amazonas region.
The coffee we offer is grown in the province of Rodríguez of Mendoza by the Cooperativa Agraria Rodríguez of Mendoza (COOPARM). Their high quality coffee is cultivated in harmony with nature while remaining profitable for the members. The pureness of their coffee is achieved through the use of organic compost free of any chemical fertilizers. It is certified by NATURLAND - GERMANY as fair trade and IMO.
We also sell all natural chocolate and honey among other goods. Our granulated panela (raw brown sugar) is made by the Association of 'Productores Santa Rosa' with out any chemicals. It is a naturally made sugar that retains all of the properties of the juice of the sugar cane like its proteins, vitamins and minerals.
The women artists of Leymebamba weave a great variety of practical and decorative products. They continue to use the techniques and patterns of design of the ancient weavers of the Chachapoyan culture. The materials used are 100% natural.
Miguel Humán Revilla is an artist from Leymebamba who creates replicas of wooden Chachapoya artefacts. He was involved in the discovery of the artefacts at the Laguna de los Condores (lake of the condors) and there he discovered his passion for woodworking. His labor is a contribution to the perseverance of ancient Chachapoya culture and their craft making. He is devoted to the conservation and reforestation of the local forests, and he uses only the wood of naturally fallen trees.
